The new technology taps open standards to help customers streamline application integration and move from fee-for-service to value-based reimbursement, McKesson executives said.  

The hospital system said it will deploy Epic’s Healthy Planet to enable clinicians to gather patient information across multiple data sources and perform sophisticated analytics on that information.

The health information exchange said Verato’s cloud service links patient records across otherwise disparate data sources to help clinicians better coordinate care and treatment. 

The program, designed to foster technology innovation in healthcare, aims to harness the industry’s $6.5 billion in start-up funding, the research and consulting giant says.

Texas Health Resources has gone live with a health information exchange connecting the regions of North, South and West Texas, joining 32 other healthcare organizations in the Lone Star State.

The industry association calls on CMS Administrator Andy Slavitt to focus on the key issues of data sharing and interoperability and to reduce the need for multiple reports from IT systems.

The providers revealed plans to create a clinically integrated network and shared services, as well as streamlining access to care services for patients of both organizations. 

The Epic EHR shop earned accolades for its use of advanced analytics, smart pumps, tracking monitors and census data to improve patient care and quality.
