The Pentagon will be looking to determine if the Army has implemented effective ways to protect its electronic health records and personally identifiable information. 

Health and Humans Services head Sylvia Burwell pressed for urgent action as her department’s dwindling resources will make it harder to help states with mosquito control and for the National Institutes of Health to conduct trials of Zika vaccines.

Doctors at the National Human Genome Research Institute, the National Cancer Institute and the NIH Clinical Center will use the tools to combine genomic and clinical data for statistical analysis and pattern detection.

Government guidance and best practices will only get hospitals so far. Both value-based care and population health require a stronger-than-ever orientation toward teamwork and that includes patients as well as communities.
