Currently, 60 percent of healthcare organizations worldwide have introduced IoT into their facilities, with nearly two-thirds of those using it for monitoring and maintenance.

The vendor will be showing an early version of what it called “a complete pathology image information system,” at HIMSS17, along with a new medical selfie app. 

The networking giant said its Software-Defined Secure Network is an ecosystem healthcare organizations can use to protect against security threats. 

Hackers reportedly had access to the practice's server between February and July of 2016. The files contained names, Social Security numbers, addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth, CPT codes and insurance information.
