At RSNA 2010, Siemens will showcase its two newest groundbreaking Imaging IT solutions, syngo.via and syngo.plaza, representing the next generation of advanced visualization and agile PACS technologies that deliver what Siemens calls “cutting-edge” functionalities to the clinical routine.

RSNA 10, the 96th Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting of the Radiological Society of North America, convenes Nov.30-Dec. 3 at McCormick Place in Chicago. The 2010 theme is “Personalized Medicine: In Pursuit of Excellence.”

With its acquisition of Ronkonkoma, N.Y.-based Quantum Medical Imaging, a privately-held manufacturer of X-ray systems used by hospitals, imaging centers and health clinics, Carestream Health has bolstered itself with a substantial portfolio of conventional and digital X-ray technologies, and better-positioned itself to penetrate the small and mid-sized hospital market.

Health IT stakeholders received a first-hand look at health information technology and electronic health record implementation during a visit to The George Washington University Hospital last month as part of National Health IT week in the nation’s capital.

Twenty-six health IT ideas, out of the 6,500 entered in the Veterans Health Administration/Office of Information and Technology (VHA/OIT) Innovation Competition, will be used by the VA to improve care for Veterans.
