The American Medical Association reviewed the ways Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes support value-based care (VBC) — and identified new opportunities to accelerate future adoption.

The codes have been made available prior to the public roll out of the vaccines in order to facilitate better tracking, reporting and analysis on electronic health care systems. This aims to support data-driven planning and allocation.
