University Hospitals in Cleveland will extend its Allscripts Sunrise Clinical Manager platform in nine hospitals to add modules for surgery, anesthesia, radiology and mobility with the goal of boosting its population health management initiatives, hospital executives said Wednesday.
UH will also increase its use of the Allscripts dbMotion interoperability and data aggregation technology, which harmonizes information from disparate clinical systems to bring actionable data to the point of care.

University Hospitals CMIO Jeffrey Sunshine, MD, said in a statement that integrating the additional Sunrise modules will enable UH to build a “single patient record across the continuum of our acute care [to] provide physicians with the information they need to make crucial decisions regarding patient care.”
Sunrise is Allscripts suite of solutions for emergency, acute, ambulatory, revenue cycle and patient administration. It features clinician-specific workflows to help drive adoption of clinical decision support. UH, known as one of the country’s top academic healthcare systems, is the largest network of primary care physicians, outpatient centers and hospitals across Northeast Ohio.
UH said on Wednesday that it extended the contract with Allscripts through 2024.
