The Austin Radiological Association, a provider of radiological services in central Texas, has implemented a free electronic health record interface, with the idea of providing constant, affordable access to clinical information.
"As electronic health records (EHRs) become a more important part of healthcare delivery, it is imperative to incorporate radiology diagnoses into these EHR systems. Sevocity has allowed ARA to quickly and efficiently deliver diagnostic results,” said R. Todd Thomas, the group's CIO.
ARA has an operating network of 14 outpatient radiology clinics and provides most of the radiologist services to hospitals in the surrounding areas.
The EHR interface, developed by Sevocity, is designed to help reduce wait times from the date of the procedure to the release of the results. With the processes of faxing reports becoming obsolete, the physicians of the ARA expect that results will come faster with the availability of information located online.
“Not only does this allow the referring physician to see the reports directly in his EMR system, but ultimately impacts the timing of diagnosis and treatment," Thomas said.
Sevocity’s EHR interface is currently being used by 12 physician practices and will be available to clients of Sevocity by request.
