Horizon Gynecology & Obstetric Associates, a multi-site, 12-physician, five-nurse practitioner practice, will boost its efficiency and care coordination with an integrated practice management and electronic health records system.
Horizon is comprised of Atlanta Gynecology & Obstetrics and Gynecology & Obstetrics of DeKalb, both in Georgia.
The practice will implement the Sage Intergy practice management and Sage Intergy EHR electronic health records system.
"Our physicians have been looking at electronic health records for quite some time - visiting conferences and trade shows, seeing literally dozens of systems. We narrowed the field to four companies, and in the end, the physicians chose Sage Intergy EHR for its superior OB chart," said Rita Foster, chief operating officer for Horizon.
"The Sage Intergy EHR OB Chart was developed by a board-certified gynecologist/obstetrician," said Sharon L. Howard, senior vice president of sales & marketing for Tamps, Fla. -based Sage Software. "We're pleased Horizon's physicians felt it was superior to the other systems they reviewed."
Foster said they also chose the Sage Intergy Practice Portal for secure, electronic practice-patient communications. She said many patients and physicians are demanding more secure, electronic methods for communicating with one another.
"Our physicians want to be a full-service, patient-focused practice for the Atlanta area," said Foster. "Our patients made it clear that they're tired of filling out paper forms in the office, that they want electronic solutions for requesting appointments and prescription refills. Intergy Practice Portal will allow us to offer these services and more, in a secure manner."
