Dell Services and Enli Health Intelligence on Monday revealed a pact to give customers access to population health management technologies.

The deal means Dell Services will resell Enli’s Risk Stratification, Care Coordination and Care Delivery tools.

While Dell Services currently offers services and technologies for supporting healthcare entities for electronic health records and health information exchange, integrating Enli’s technologies into Dell Services' data analytics and aggregation, interoperability and to a certain extent patient engagement – thereby giving Dell Services a foothold in the burgeoning population health management fray.

IDC Health Insights research director Cynthia Burghard said in a statement that providers are shifting IT and spending focus from EHRs toward software that includes analytics, care coordination and clinical decision support.

That trend would by nature open opportunities for agreements similar to Enli and Dell Services among other computing giants and population health specialists.

Whether Enli tools will be available pre-loaded on Dell hardware will be determined on what an Enli spokesperson said is to be a customer-specific basis.

Enli’s spokersperson said that the companies are also exploring joint product development initiatives for the future.
