GE Healthcare and Hartford HealthCare announced Tuesday a seven-year initiative to improve the safety and speed of patient care at the Connecticut-based healthcare system.
The partners plan to introduce a series of related projects over the years, all aimed at boosting patient care and efficiency.
GE will help implement and activate Hartford HealthCare's new Care Logistics Center. The Center’s goal is to improve patient and staff experience by reducing waiting times and improving communication between providers and facilities.

“We are redesigning the way we organize and deliver care,” Hartford HeathCare CEO Elliot Joseph said in a statement. “We are focused on ensuring patients get the care they need, where they need it, and to coordinate that care so it is faster, safer and, ultimately, more affordable.”
The initiative has four main objectives: Improve patient experience, leverage advanced analytics, drive efficiency to lower cost and achieve $14 million in savings over seven years; and to further develop complex digital imaging services.
