Regional health insurance and finance companies Cambia Health Solutions and Mosaic Health Solutions announced the creation of Echo Health Ventures.
Echo, a healthcare investment company, will integrate the programs of Mosaic and Cambia to deploy capital to support innovative, consumer-centric healthcare companies, the firms said.
“The next great health care companies will personalize health care, reduce costs and focus on the consumer - not the enterprise,” said Rob Coppedge, most recently President of Cambia’s strategic investment division, will lead the combined strategic investment company as its CEO. “Whether they are early stage startups or well established growth companies, Echo will support getting innovations to scale faster and more successfully across the multi-trillion dollar healthcare market.”
Echo will be an independent company, but its board will include Mark Ganz, president and CEO of Cambia Health Solutions, and Brad Wilson, president and CEO of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina.
“The time is right for increased collaboration to drive real change in healthcare as market dynamics demand innovation,” Wilson said.
