Two professors call for a rethink on how to treat women in the workplace.
A recent article in Harvard Business Review implores readers to “stop protecting women from challenging work.”
The authors point out that surveys in the oil and gas and healthcare industries show that the women received fewer challenging developmental work opportunities than the men.
The article, written by Kristen Jones, assistant professor of management in the Fogelman College of Business and Economics at the University of Memphis, and Eden King, associate professor of psychology at George Mason University and an associate editor of the Journal of Management and the Journal of Business and Psychology, calls for an end to patronizing ways and suggest alternatives.
