Virtualization software easing workflows

At HIMSS15 Citrix will showcase technologies that could make physicians lives easier.

Virtualization solutions are not the type of technology that engages most clinicians. So it’s to be expected that those who work in hospitals without a virtual desktop are not aware of how much easier their daily routines could be.

On the HIMSS15 Exhibit Hall floor, Citrix will be showing how virtualization solves many of the problems that can frustrate a clinical staff during the course of an average work day.

“It’s about giving a provider the ability to log-in from any device and let the application seamlessly follow him,” explained Citrix Marketing Manager Nitin Sharma. “If there’s a difficult patient case, he can email that securely to another provider. It’s all about managing the devices and maintaining the security posture.”

Virtualization makes it possible for the clinician to see the same ‘desktop’ from any device within the hospital’s network. Working with partners like Imprivata, Citrix’ virtualization solution allows clinicians to have the advantage of single sign-on, eliminating the need for repeated logins as they move from one application to another.

Citrix will also be showing greater integration among its own products to support new devices. “Our booth will look like a Best Buy because we’ll have mobile devices all over,” said Matt Crawford, director of solutions marketing. Citrix solutions make it easier to log into these devices with McKesson, Allscript, Epic and other clinical applications.

Updates to XenMobile and NetScaler are behind the demos showing case studies from hospitals that are deploying secure telehealth applications.

You’ll find Citrix in booth 1645 in the South Hall.
