Rutland Regional Medical Center and GE Healthcare executives say they will highlight best practices to create a national blueprint for improved quality and efficiency.
The hospital will serve as a showcase for visiting hospital leaders across the nation.
"This agreement with GE Healthcare underscores our commitment to utilize advanced technology for improving outcomes in the communities we serve," said Barb Robinson, vice president of clinical services, at Rutland Regional Medical Center in Rutland, Vt.
As part of the agreement, Rutland Regional will demonstrate how technology helps optimize performance and coordinate care. The hospital will showcase GE's diagnostic imaging equipment, clinical services and information technology.
Rutland Regional's radiology department supports 30 specialized services, including trauma, breast care, orthopedic and cancer center services.
The partnership with GE would be a key differentiator, Robinson said, as the hospital upgrades its technology and implements GE's suite of technology and services, including the use of digital, portable imaging technology at the point of care, the integration of information systems and sharing of patient data and implementation of a multi-vendor service agreement with GE.
"Rutland Regional has advanced the role of technology to help optimize processes, connect caregivers and further medical advancements," said Mark Vachon, president and CEO of GE Healthcare Americas. "We're thrilled to extend our collaboration with Rutland Regional to help further promote how technology and process innovation within community hospitals can positively impact clinical performance."
