TigerText on Friday unveiled the spring 2016 release of its secure messaging platform. The latest iteration brings a new desktop application as well as features the vendor said will improve workflow, such as priority messaging and auto-forwarding.
The company described the desktop app as self-updating, with built-in alerts to make information exchange easier and help users coordinate across care teams.

While the desktop app is available for Windows or Mac platforms, TigerText also added features to its iOS and Android offerings, including auto-forward, priority messaging and distinctive rings, a connection status banner, and an active indicator to show when co-workers are available. A new capability called Rooms enables users to communicate in an internal community forum.
Additionally, TigerText added three new functions specifically for Android-based devices: faster navigation via Android’s guidelines, the Android for Work Designation to let users manage TigerText via Google’s MDM tool, and a so-called floating action button that lets users draft messages from an icon.
The company said that users requested these features through its customer feedback program.
