ODH is partnering with Hashed Health in an arrangement the companies said will be a boost to blockchain in healthcare.
It's the most recent of many collaborations Hashed Health has embarked upon – others include projects with Accenture, Altarum Institute and Change Healthcare – to explore ways blockchain and distributed ledger technology can be brought to healthcare.
ODH develops data aggregation and analytics tools for payers, behavioral health providers, accountable care organizations, integrated delivery networks and other risk-bearing organizations. ODH will spearhead Hashed Health’s Value-Based Care Working Group, which aims to speed the healthcare industry's transition to value-based care through the adoption of practical blockchain solutions such as improving quality measures via payer and provider collaboration.

Hashed Health said it's working to build a digital infrastructure for blockchain in healthcare, seeking to build new DLT-based tools to better protect patient data and allow for improved process efficiencies. Its partnership with ODH will help with those goals, said Hashed Health CEO John Bass.
"As a company dedicated to combining data, analytics and insights to enable integrated patient care, ODH adds depth to our community," said Bass in a statement. "ODH’s focus on addressing behavioral and physical health comorbidities brings a unique perspective to our initiatives."

"Blockchain technologies hold a great deal of promise for managing and securing patient data, enabling greater payments efficiency and bringing together disconnected parties across the healthcare ecosystem," added Michael Jarjour, ODH's president and CEO. "Making those goals a reality requires teamwork among healthcare organizations."
