Tamara StClaire, chief innovation officer at Xerox Healthcare, and Geeta Nayyar, MD, chief healthcare and innovation officer for Femwell Group Health, led a Tweet chat on healthcare IT Wednesday as part of National Health IT week activities.
The tweets covered a range of issues guided by questions from StClaire and Nayyar. Drawing the most tweets was the topic of pay inequity between men and women in health IT.
HIMSS Executive Vice President Carla Smith, who recently released the result of a survey on the topic and also launched a Women in Health IT community to address issues around gender inequality in the health IT sector, promoted Sunlight as one way to tackle the gender disparities.
