Polycom, Inc. has named Andrew Miller president and chief executive officer. Merge Healthcare has appointed Jeff Surges to its board of directors. The Health Information Trust Alliance (HITRUST) has elected Roy R. Mellinger, vice president of information technology security and chief information security officer for WellPoint, Inc., to the Executive Council. Quality Systems, Inc., (QSI) a developer of a range of healthcare information systems for automating medical and dental practices as well as small hospital systems, has promoted several executives into expanded roles. Tim Eggena has been named executive vice president of research and development. Monte Sandler was promoted to executive vice president of NextGen Practice Solutions, responsible for managing the company’s RCM business unit. Donn Neufeld, who served as senior vice president and general manager of QSI's dental unit, was named executive vice president of electronic data interchange (EDI) and dental, for both NextGen and QSI. Michael Ball has joined BridgeHead Software as senior vice president, North America. The Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission (EHNAC), a non-profit standards development organization and accrediting body has appointed four new commissioners who will serve the organization through 2012. The new commissioners, Sharon Klein, Renae Price, Jan Root and Jim Whicker, join 10 existing commissioners and consumer representatives from both private and public organizations. NEC Corporation of America, a provider and integrator of advanced communications, networking and IT solutions, has appointed Matt Pierce as senior vice president, sales and marketing of the company's enterprise solutions unit. Patient Care Technology Systems, a subsidiary of Consulier Engineering, Inc. has appointed Chris Doran as the director of RTLS solutions. Naohiro Fujitani has been named president and CEO of FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A. He succeeds Hiroaki Tada who has retired after almost 40 years with Fujifilm, the last two of which were spent at FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A.  ClearPractice LLC, a leading provider of SaaS-based solutions for practices of 10 physicians or fewer, named healthcare industry veteran Gary Ferguson as the new president and CEO. WellAWARE Systems, a developer of next-generation wellness monitoring solutions for care providers, has announced its relocation to Richmond, Va, in order to accommodate company growth and an expanding staff. BlueWare has augmented its executive team with the addition of Nancy Barr, the company’s new vice president of product development. Beth Just, CEO and president, Just Associates, Inc., a consulting firm specializing in patient data integrity solutions for the health information management, health informatics and health information technology markets, has been accepted as a fellow in the American Health Information Management Association. VisionShare announced that Mark R. Briggs has joined the company as chief executive officer. Imprivata has appointed Jim Whelan to vice president of the company’s North American Healthcare Group. Voalté, a developer of point-of-care communications software on smartphone devices, has announced seven new appointments. Mark Burke joins Voalté as the South Central regional account manager. Sara Akroyd will be Voalté’s first care specialist. Steve Sturniolo was appointed as the Southeast regional account manager. Scott Newman is joining the Voalté team as a software developer. Taylor Anderson joins Voalté as the Voalté One product manager. Nick Szenberg will serve as a sales analyst. Jeff Palmer, a former system administrator, joins the company as a field service engineer.
