By Healthcare IT News , Staff

Healthcare IT News has received a Jesse Neal Award for Best Issue of a Newspaper/Tabloid for its November 2012 publication, by a board of judges composed of more than 100 experienced business editors.

This is the second Neal Award for Healthcare IT News, which previously won the same category in 2006. Its sister publication, Healthcare Finance News, won a Neal Award for Best Website in 2011.

"The Jesse Neal Award sets the standard for excellence in business journalism and we are very honored to receive it," said Richard Pizzi, editorial director of MedTech Media, a division of HIMSS Media. "To be recognized by your peers for the hard work that goes into creating Healthcare IT News is gratifying to the entire team. We strive to provide our readers with the best news coverage in the healthcare industry, and this award encourages us to raise the bar even higher."

Established in 1955, the Jesse H. Neal National Business Journalism Awards recognize and reward editorial excellence in business media. The awards are named for American Business Media’s first managing director who remained active in promoting the industry throughout his life. The Neal Awards are presented annually to those editors who have submitted entries exhibiting journalistic enterprise, service to the field and editorial craftsmanship.
