Flatiron Health announced on Thursday it would strengthen its cloud-based electronic health record and analytics platform, both designed specifically for medical oncology.
OncoEMR and OncoAnalytics are being enhanced to support participating cancer care providers with meeting the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation’s new reporting requirements for its Oncology Care Model, or OCM.
Flatiron Health’s OCM participation solution will be available prior to July 1 this year, according to company executives.
OCM is a five-year voluntary program that pays participating providers both a care management fee and shared savings. To qualify providers must adhere to new requirements.
“Given the evolving reimbursement landscape, we planned for several OncologyCloud software platform enhancements that will allow cancer centers to easily participate in value-based care programs like OCM as soon as the programs begin,” said Bobby Green, MD, Flatiron’s senior vice president of clinical oncology.

The updates include: Automated reporting of all OCM practice-reported quality measures; embedded, evidence-based regimens and pathways at the point of care; and seamless ability to create a care plan that contains the 13 components in the Institute of Medicine Care Management Plan.
Flatiron Health is also developing new analytics and clinical transformation approaches to further help providers in their transition to value-based care.
