Concerto Cloud Services launched a platform featuring built-in HIPAA compliance from the application down through the physical layer. The service, called the Concerto Cloud for Healthcare, also offers hybrid deployment capabilities, with integrations across the Concerto private cloud, Microsoft Azure public cloud and on-premise applications.
Concerto Cloud for Healthcare is managed through 24/7 support and a 99.99 percent guaranteed uptime. It integrates with electronic health records (EHR), enterprise resource planning (ERP) and enterprise content management (ECM) applications.
The service also offers automatic failover, advanced protection from common Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks, as well as single sign-on and multi-factor authentication.

Greg Pierce, chief cloud officer at Concerto Cloud Services Healthcare, said customers and channel partners have been cautious to embrace the cloud because of concerns about data security, compliance and complexity.

A recent Gartner report showed that concerns about security related to storing protected health information and personally identifiably information in the cloud are improving.
“Cloud services have matured, as have the practices for cloud-using organizations, and the time has come for health delivery organizations to recognize cloud service providers' strengths and consider cloud-based hosting services as a viable regulation-acceptable IT service delivery model,” the report said.
