Canon Solutions America Inc. has announced at HIMSS17 a strategic alliance with Levi, Ray & Shoup Inc. (LRS) to expand its healthcare Information management portfolio.
The goal of the new relationship is to help hospitals and health systems simplify and modernize their information output infrastructures. The partnership, Canon said, further enhances Canon Solutions America’s ability to offer healthcare customers an environment where output is secure, efficient and reliable – helping to ensure HIPAA compliance and protected health information integrity while lessening redundancies for IT staff.
By combining the healthcare technology of LRS with the power of the imageRUNNER Advance third-generation multifunctional platform, Canon has added another dimension in helping healthcare organizations meet the goal of delivering optimal patient care, said Mike Sannomiya, senior vice president, marketing, enterprise services and solutions, at Canon Solutions America.
While healthcare clinical systems house important patient information, they can’t ensure that critical patient documents are printed where and when they are needed most, or even that they are printed at all, the vendor said. These problems are expensive, and worse, can lead to lapses and delays in patient care, Canon said.
“Together with Canon Solutions America we can reduce the complexity and associated cost burden of printing from the major electronic medical records systems as well as transforming legacy data streams into simple and accessible output for healthcare workers,” said Jay Boor, LRS business development and alliances manager for North America.
