Boston Children's EHR down for days

Brought back up in phases
By Bernie Monegain

The electronic health record system at Boston Children's Hospital crashed on Friday, March 20, and remained down until Wednesday March, 25, the Boston Globe reports. Hospital officials blamed the outage on a hardware issue related to storage. During the shutdown, clinicians used paper to track medications and treatments.

Hospital spokesman Rob Graham told the Globe the system was repaired and tested and being brought up in phases.
