During an MSNBC Live interview discussing Congress’ repeal vote of the Affordable Care Act, outspoken Athenahealth CEO Jonathan Bush learned the hard way not to swear on live television.
Bush was discussing the possible effects of the American Health Care Act passage on Friday morning with Anchor Stephanie Ruhle and said he didn’t feel the AHCA would negatively affect most Americans.
Ruhle countered with the associated costs of hiring female and senior employees -- especially small business owners who may be reluctant to hire that demographic without the ACA.

“Anybody foolish enough to miss out on a woman because she’s going to have a baby in their workplace is going to have a sh...y company,” said Bush.
The response?
“Johnny,” Ruhle responded. “There’s nothing appropriate about cursing at nine o’clock in the morning on television either, so I’m going to apologize on your behalf.”
Bush countered with a simple “whoopsie” and continued answering the question.
This isn’t the first time the brazen CEO has ruffled feathers with his candid honesty.
In July, Bush slammed meaningful use as “incredibly dark hubris” and governmental interference, while claiming Athenahealth rivals Epic and Allscripts were dead in the water before meaningful use.
