WA Health turns to role-based messaging platform
Western Australia’s Department of Health will be deploying a role-based messaging platform for healthcare staff statewide.
The Microsoft Teams-based platform provided by Baret will initially support the State Health Operations Centre’s (SHOC) System Flow Centre, which coordinates emergency care, patient transfers, and transport. The SHOC will later be used to consolidate fragmented channels, looking to enhance reliability, care coordination, and statewide collaboration.
Baret, first developed for Austin Health, is also used across Monash Health and Mercy Health in Victoria.

The rollout is also set for integration with the upcoming national Shared Digital Health Record system, the first phase of which is expected to be completed by December.
